Obituary of Stephen Douglas McNorgan
Stephen Douglas McNorgan, Born August 7, 1958, was called home on October 9, 2019. His loving parents, Carl (1993) and Lillian (1996), were joyfully waiting to welcome their angel. Steve was the light of the lives of his six siblings: Bob (Debbie), Rick (Donna), Dave (Cathy), Joanne Armstrong (Marshall), Janice (Margaret Cheney), and Linda McKnight (Roger). Steve was the fun uncle to many nieces and nephews: Michael (Jennifer), Jeffrey (Rebekah), Jennifer Almond (Mike); Christopher (Rebecca Lubos), Erin, Heather (Kristian Dart), Carolyn Romaine (Jas); Sarah, Jonathan; Jed, Jeremy and Josh Winter; Shannon Mero (Adam Szymanski), Nicole Mero, and Chad Cossette. His great nieces Brittany and Abbey remember him with special affection. They, along with Steve's other great nieces and nephews, will miss his playful ways and gentle hugs. Steve's Down Syndrome made him extra special. He radiated love and joy wherever he went, touching the hearts of everyone who knew him. His eternal childlike nature kept Santa Claus coming down the chimney and the Easter Bunny hopping down the bunny trail throughout his life. Steve's birthday was his favourite day of the year, and his cake had to accommodate his numerous nicknames: Pal, Colonel, Roger, the Fonz, the Hulk, Buddy, Teddy Bear, Jake and Doug. Steve taught us how to find joy in the simplest things in life. He found the greatest pleasure in music, magazines, burgers and fries, an ice cream treat, and a new hat. He taught us about love. Steve loved everyone, and everyone loved Steve. Steve's "good family" wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and Steve's many friends at Meadow Park where he lived the last ten years. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Monday, October 14th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 o'clock where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 15th at 11 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London, Ontario. Steve's family would greatly appreciate any donations be made to Meadow Park, London.
