COVID 19 Awareness
The health, safety and well-being of our families, guests and staff is our top priority. As concerns over COVID-19 heighten in our region we are committed and prepared to safely care for the families we serve during this novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
At this time, Donohue Funeral Home, is continuing to hold services and visitations as directed by our client families. All public health officials agree that the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to follow typical flu precautions. These include the following:
Wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer (sanitizers available throughout the funeral home)
Sneeze and cough into your sleeve
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
Avoid contact with people who are sick
Stay home if you are sick
We ask if you have been travelling or have been outside of Canada recently that you abide the Government recommendation to self quarantine for 14 days, and not attend any services or visitations at the funeral home. We are able to offer Live Streaming for clients who have services here at the Donohue Funeral Home, with a link that can be sent to family and friends to view the service in real-time or a video of the service that can be viewed at a later date from an off site location.
We are being diligent in cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the funeral home, especially those areas most frequented by the public. Hand sanitizers and tissue boxes are available throughout the funeral home. We recommend that the public try to keep kissing, hugging, hand shaking and close personal contact to a minimum.
According to the CDC there is currently no known risk associated with being in the same room at a funeral or visitation service with the body of someone who died of COVID-19.
The health and safety of our client families, the public and our staff is of prime concern for us and we will continue to monitor and implement recommendations and procedures as they are suggested by various Health Officials. The COVID -19 pandemic is a formidable challenge for everyone. We are striving to continue to provide meaningful services to our families with a shared focus on honouring the loved one lost, and keeping all those who are mourning safe and healthy.
We are available 24 hours a day for all of your funeral needs.
