To Peter, Brian and all of the Hall family,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mother’s passing (your Dad’s also). She was a lovely, generous and happy person. What amazing long lives they both lived!
I have fond memories of our Clarkson days. Swimming lessons with Peter at the Lyon’s Club pool, your Mom’s cool Mustang, making forts in your backyard out of appliance boxes and learning to play pool in your basement just to name a few. She was so generous often inviting me to stay for dinner. Oh yes, and the fun trips to the farm in Milton. Peter was one of my best friends at that time and Brian a close friend of my brother, Allen. I will never forget 10 of us in our Country Squire station wagon for the 3 hour journey to our cottage in Bancroft (Mom, Dad, 7 of us James children and Brian - poor guy). One more memory, and I am sure we have a picture somewhere, was the night of the Halloween party at St. Christopher’s church. Your Mother dressed as a Playboy bunny (and looked great). Your Dad didn’t dress up and when they came to pick up our parents, my Dad, seeing him in his business suit created a nametag for him that said “Hugh Heffner”. Those were fun days and you were all really missed after your move to London.
What a beautiful tribute to your wonderful Mother. We lost Mom in 2019 (age 83) and Dad in July of this year (89 years). Time passes far too quickly. I wish you all peace and strength as this difficult time.
