My dear Ruth and Al,
This is shocking news. I think of you and Sarah all the time, and have tried to connect on social media through searches before. Today I decided to search once again, and I’m heartbroken to see this sad, sad news. I grew up with all of you. Sarah and I played dress up and Barenstain Bears Hat Game together. I often did not deserve her or your kindness, but you always gave it.
Sarah and I grew close at the cottage during high school. I used to sleep over many nights in the sleeping cabin. We’d laugh at Sweet Valley High characters, but still kept reading the books!
Sarah was always so much cooler than me making friends with the locals and letting me tag along, even though I was older.
Thanks for all the laughs and all the games of Scooter euchre with Grandma Ann.
I love Sarah, and I love you all so much. I thank her for always being a better person than me. Love you, darling childhood friend.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Jackson,
I am so sorry to hear of Sarah's passing. We had so many wonderful times in your Poplar Hill home. She had the best bedroom and I always loved the many sleepovers we had. I will forever remember the one summer you asked me to join you at a cottage and I saw the Northern Lights for the first time. I have so many wonderful memories with Sarah, she was such an important part of my life when I moved to Valley View.
I am so thankful she was a part of my life.
With love,
Dana Roberts

My deepest condolences to Ruth and Al Jackson, this is heartbreaking news.
Sarah and I were very close friends in elementary school and we spent a great deal of time together. I would tag along with the family on visits to the cottage where I made many fond childhood memories with Sarah. I’ve carried these childhood memories with me and often transport myself to our countless hours of Barbie roleplaying in the sun drenched room of the cottage (I really don’t know how we could play Barbie for SO long). I often hope that my two daughters will nourish a friendship as special as what Sarah and I had. I also snicker to myself remembering how scared I’d be after watching scary movies at her late night birthday sleepovers.
Sarah was one of my closest friends when we were young. I loved spending time with her, she was caring, generous, imaginative and so much fun.
As we grew older and went to different schools we drifted apart but she’s never been far from my mind or heart. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing and my thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
Much love,
Stacey Fletcher
