Obituary of Doris Ellen McCormick

McCORMICK, Doris Ellen (nee MacDonald) Peacefully, with family by her side, at University Hospital on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Predeceased by loving husband Ronald in 1995. Cherished mother of Donna (Rick) Cebulski, Ron (Pam) McCormick, Anne Marie (Gerry) Jans, Patricia McCormick (John Wester). Beloved grandmother of Angela (Andrew), Carrie (Ryan), Nicole, Danielle, Maggie, Jake, Phillip (Jeff) and Brenden and great-grandmother of Alyssa, Kiersten, Emma, Julia, Mason and Evan. Survived by brother Jim MacDonald of Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia. Also predeceased by parents Andrew and Georgina MacDonald as well as several brothers and sisters. Doris will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. A special thank-you is extended to the wonderful staff at Chartwell Long Term Care Residence (London), Dr. Nicholls, the nursing and administrative staff and the PSW’s of Aspen Grove for their compassionate care, kindness and support. Mom built many friendships with fellow residents at Chartwell and enjoyed their company immensely. Thank you as well to the staff at LHSC – University Hospital Emergency Dept. Visitors are welcome to John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 377 Oakland Avenue, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimers Society or LHSC – Transplant Unit would be greatly appreciated.
