Obituary of Joan Linsdell

Obituary Joan Linsdell (née Catalano).

With grace and gratitude, surrounded by the love of her family, Joan passed away peacefully on November 26th, in her 93rd year. Born and raised in London, Ontario, she was the much loved daughter of Helen (Bartello) and Joseph Catalano and the cherished big sister of the late Don Catalano. Devoted and caring wife of Frank Linsdell (2011) for 53 years. Loving mother of Mary Helen (Peter Adams), Jimmy (Juliana), Francie (Andy Stone) and Don (Sandra). Very proud Nana (Nanny) to Burke and Allison (Adams); Melissa and Elizabeth (Linsdell); Hilary, Will and Daphne (Stone) and Jamie and Caroline (Linsdell). Loved by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She lived an exceptionally full life finding tremendous strength from her family, her friends and her Catholic faith. So many wonderful, long lasting friendships were made over the bridge table and on the golf course.  An avid study of both pastimes, her subtle competitive spirit was ever so apparent. She made the family home on Wychwood Park and the cottage in Grand Bend special places for us and they remain the foundation of our  happiest memories.  After Frank passed away in 2011, she moved to Windermere on the Mount where she continued to be happy and fulfilled every day. Thank you to her wonderful caregivers, Janet, Rhonda and Bobbi.  We are grateful for their kindness, devotion and respectful care. Family was the centre of her being.  As the family grew to 4 children and 9 grandchildren, she always exemplified gentleness, generosity and thoughtfulness. She made everyone feel special and loved.  Above all, she wanted her family to love and look after each other. Her kindness, even in her last days, has been an inspirational and guiding influence to all of us. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock and on Tuesday at Christ The King University Parish, Windermere on The Mount Chapel, 1486 Richmond Street, from 10:30 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 o'clock. Cremation with Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date.
