I was utterly shocked and saddened after recently learning of Janet's passing. She was my first and closest childhood friend, this lovely curly-haired girl from across the street who had such impact on me in my early life. Even though we eventually lost touch as our lives later continued in different worlds Janet remained in my thoughts. Until today I cherish an abundance of memories which I still love to share with my family and close friends.
My deepest sympathies go to Gerry and Emma, Jan's mother Lou, her brothers Bob and David and their families. What a loss, and much too soon!
Dear Janet, dear childhood chum, hopefully you are at peace in Heaven. Today is your birthday, and for the first time this remembrance falls sadly on my heart.
Love
Heike

Dear Friend, Dorm Mate and Off-Campus Roomoie,
We had some good & wild times. We shall never forget your wit, wisdom and particular brand of subtle sarcasm. And flaking out by the pool yakking, laughing and splashing. You're at peace now. Godspeed my girl. You will never be forgotten.
Love, Jill and Steve DeBala

Jan and I were at UWO together and spent many hours with good friends and listening to music. She was always someone who listened and had a wonderful comment or two that set everything right. Jan took the time a few years ago to provide me with a natural lotion that she made to help me ease pain with dry skin. She was always there with a smile. Hugs from Jane and I to the entire family.

Dear Gerry and Emma and family,
We are so sad to hear of the passing of Jan. We will always remember her as a very witty woman who liked to have a good time.
We have known each other for a long time and we knew she held a special place in your hearts. From playing music with Gerry and Jan supporting him at the gigs,it was always nice to see her. Our deepest condolences and we send out our love.

I first met Jan almost 10 years ago when I started working at the London Chamber of Commerce. We talked about curly hair, movies and our favourite books – Outlander, Game of Thrones and The Art of Racing in the Rain. When I needed help emptying my friend’s home she jumped right in and joined us. She had an awesome sense of humour, gave a hug when needed, provided advice when asked and often discussed making natural products like hand lotion. When I was in hospital for surgery in April she came to visit. I was honoured by her visit and even more honoured when I was able to return the favour and visit her in hospital. Gerry and Emma, my heart aches for your loss. She will be mightily missed…like I told her, we’ll miss her like crazy. I pray that God will keep you close and watch over you both. My heartfelt condolences to you. Love Bonnie

Jan was incredible friend and neighbour during our time on Central Avenue in adjacent apartments.
Jan and I spent many weekends scouting our beloved cutlery collections and many evenings playing scrabble, boggle, trivial pursuit or just knitting. Jan won every game we ever played.
I remember her first date with Gerry. I snuck a peak out the window to watch them leave. I knew she would marry Gerry after that first date! I had the privilege of being a bridesmaid in their wedding.
Over the years we lost touch but Jan’s wit and sense of humour will remain with me forever.
Judy

Jan worked with me at the London Chamber of Commerce for over 22 years. Jan was firstly a teacher at heart. She went to school to become a teacher and her teaching skills enabled her and I to make a pretty good team in the Accounting department. She always pushed me to be the best I could be. She was always willing to help the Chamber out during the Corporate Challenge, Comedy Auction and Golf tournament. I will miss her dedication and determination to always ensure that we did the best we could for our members. It wasn't all serious number crunching at work. We would share stories and jokes that made us laugh until we both cried. Our favourite movies and cartoon characters to discuss were Outlander, Harold and Maude, Benny and June and Pinky and the Brain. I can't forget Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. We both would say at the same time "Thanks for noticin" when we would catch each others errors or when we did something amazing! Jan's sarcasm and wit brightened up my day and it was her sense of humour that Gerry and Emma both share. What a wonderful family. Over the years I was lucky to hear so many stories of Emma growing up to become the beautiful, kind and loving daughter that she is today. Jan was so proud of her. Gerry was her partner in every sense of the word. She always loved to support him with his music and he supported her right back by being her rock to the very end, To see the love that they shared as a family was truly beautiful. Emma and Gerry know that my thoughts and prayers are with you both during this difficult time. Know she will always be in our hearts and memories. Love Wendy
