Obituary of Jerome Bechard

 Jerome Bechard, a resident of London and formerly of the Wallaceburg area, passed away peacefully at London University Hospital, on Thursday, November 7th, 2019 at age 83. Jerome was born in Chatham and grew up in nearby Pain Court. He is the son of the late Henri and Velina (Myers) Bechard. Cherished husband of Zuzanna (Kawala) Bechard. Predeceased by wife Shirley (Lindsay) Bechard. Loving father of Kevin (Diane) of Sombra, Michelle Hess (Otto Kjeldsen) of Mooretown, Karen of Windsor, Mark (Judy) of Dover Centre, Nicole (Blaine Chronik) of London, and Daniel (Natalie) of London. Extraordinary grandfather of Derek, Brandon, Taylor, Kyle, Ryan, Lindsay, Kala, Kelsy, Cassidy, Cianna, Sasha, Grayson, Penelope, and Cyprien. Proud great grandfather of Jaida, Caelum, Riley, Grace-lynn, Aiden and Amelia. Dear twin brother of Gerard (Margo), brothers Ivan (Dora), and Norbert (Noreen) all of Chatham. Sisters Beverly Crow (late Robert) of Ridgetown and Jeannette Owen (Norm) of Chatham. Predeceased by brother, Vern (Mary Lou) of Markham. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. Missed by Shmush, the rag doll cat. Jerome was owner and operator of Lindsay Tile Yard and Great Lakes Pipe Limited in the Wallaceburg area in the 1970's and 80's and then worked up until his retirement at Cogghe Marine and St.Clair Tool and Die in Wallaceburg. He was a talented baseball player, a hockey coach, curler, trapshooter, hunter and fisherman. With the help of his wife, Sue, Jerome built custom bird houses in his woodworking shop that could be found at many of the specialty shops in the London area. Jerome was a friendly, personable, fun loving man with a great sense of humor. He lit up the room. Jerome loved his entire family and will be missed by all who knew him.
