Paula Lenardon

Obituary of Paula Ann Lenardon

Lenardon, Paula Ann Paula Ann Lenardon, born August 11, 1961, of London Ontario, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2019 from complications arising out of her long and heroic battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was surrounded by loving family. May she rest in the Peace of Christ. The elder daughter of Mrs. Joan Marie Lenardon (née Girvin) and the late Dr. Dante Lenardon, Paula is survived by her loving mother, her loving sister, Julia, and her devoted cousins, Carmen Sprovieri and Rod Robertson. Paula is also survived by her Sprovieri and Lenardon cousins in British Columbia, France, Italy and Luxembourg, and by her Girvin, Curley, Costello, Philipps and Abarno cousins in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and California. Paula was a gifted child who showed great aptitude for drawing and creative writing. After graduating from St. Michael's Elementary School and Catholic Central High, she earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Western Ontario. While a student working on the campus radio station, 94.9 Radio Western (CHRW), she discovered a deep love for journalism. Thus, she embarked upon a career as a news reporter with Global Television and was then recruited by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation until she was forced, too soon by her illness, to retire. In 2017, Paula returned to London and built a new life at Chartwell Long Term Residence on 2000 Blackwater St., lovingly encircled by family, friends and dedicated health care workers. Visitation with family and friends will take place at St. Michael's Church, 511 Cheapside St., on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., to be immediately followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. A Luncheon will follow in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the Lenardon Family invites you to donate to a charity of your choice or to the Dante Lenardon Legacy Award, King's University College, 266 Epworth Street, London ON, N6A 2M3.
