To: Elaine, Rebecca, Amy, Dan, Amber & Elijah
Tuesday October was the darkest day in your journey Doug; that is the day that Elaine, Rebecca, Amy, Dan, Amber, little man Elijah and so many more people in your life let you spread your wings and fly up to heaven.
I must be honest with you it has really been a rough week since finding out that you were having a rough patch of this journey called Cancer; but I knew that you were a fighter and you weren't going be shying away from this latest development no matter what. That's what I loved about seeing you walk into the front end of the store with your shopping list, reusable bag(s), small shopping cart it never mattered how you were feeling through out treatment; you always had a smile on your face and was always friendly / joking around about those silly Toronto Blue Jays and how their season was always going turn around....someday....sooner the better.
Elaine and family please remember that you have 62 years worth of full stories, adventures, memories of Doug (a son, brother, uncle, husband, father, friend, coworker, neighbour) and so more that became treasured keepsake that no one will ever be able to change or take away from you; keep all these wonderful moments/ memories close to you... each and everyday of your life's Brown family. Just remember just because Doug isn't here in person doesn't mean he's not around you, it just means that he is in closest place possible in your life's....and that place is in your hearts. During this difficult time, walking down memory lane with memories and stories is the best medicine to help you. Along with being at peace knowing Doug is now free from all his aches and pains he had on a regular bases.
Elaine and family I’m sure your hearts are aching. I want you to know that we are here for you if your need anything after everything calms down and goes back to the new normal don't be scared, to ask because my family and me are always willing to lend a helping hand to our friends.
