Obituary of Maria Oliva

Oliva, Maria Surrounded by the love of her family on October 23, Maria (Surace) Oliva, 71 years old. Loving wife of Orazio (Ross) Oliva for 52 years, and cherished mother of Melina and Phil DiCarlo, Joe Oliva and Charlene Rana, and, Sera and Joe Michienzi. Devoted Nonna to David, Julia and Daniel. Caring sister to (late) Frank and Domenica Surace, (late) Vincenza and Salvatore Giugno, Rosa and Mario Strano, Josephine and (late) Albino Ieraci, Rocco and Natalina Surace and dear sister-in-law (late) Filippo and Tita Oliva, (late) Domenic and Pia Oliva, (late) Giovanni and Maria Oliva, Frank and (late) Sandy Oliva, Josephine and John Oliva, Tony and Liliana Oliva, (late) Stefano Fedele, Nicolina and (late) Peter Ieraci. Lovingly remembered for her kindness and generosity by many nieces, nephews and Godchildren, as well as close family friends. Maria owned The Hair Gallery for 40 years, helping her clients feel wonderful with each visit. She was a member of the Marconi Club of London, the Forever Young Club, and enthusiastically enjoyed the Mexican sunshine during the winter months. Visitations will be held at Donahue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, on Friday, October 25th from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be conducted at Mary Immaculate Parish, 1980 Trafalgar Street, on Saturday, October 26th at 11:00 am. Entombment at Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery after the Mass. The family has requested no flowers; donations to London Regional Cancer Program or St. Joseph's Hospice are preferred as appreciation for the care and compassion from the staff during Maria's stay.
