Philip Ignatius “Nish” Johnston passed away at Ashwood Manor in Lambeth on Saturday, June 29, 2019 in his 98th year. Predeceased by his wife Helen (McFalls) in 2013. Born in Glanworth, Ontario on January 10, 1922 into a family that eventually grew to include 13 children. He is survived by his sisters Ilene Moir of Ilderton, and Teresa Dieleman of St. Thomas. Although Nish and Helen were not blessed with children, their home was always proudly adorned with the pictures and accomplishments of several generations of nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his large extended family. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Ashwood Manor, as well as PSW Keely McIntyre for their exceptional care and support over the past few weeks. With their help and compassion, Nish’s passing was peaceful and painless. Also thanks to VONs Elsa and Jessica who respectfully and professionally coordinated Nish’s care in his last days.
