Obituary of Pamela Gloria Koutroulides
1938-2019
It is with loving memories and great sadness we announce the passing of Pamela Koutroulides on May 7, 2019. Loving mother of Maria (Ron) and Andrew (Titien), grandmother to Rini and Ria, and friend to many.
Mom was intensely proud of her British heritage and business acumen as co-owner and manager of a home care agency in England. England was woven into the fabric of mom’s life. She loved the sea, quaint British ways, the Royal Family, their sense of humour and held cherished memories of family, community, and friends living there. Those much loved friends and extended family are in our thoughts, knowing they wished they were here.
After her return to Canada mom was thrilled to be closer to family while reacquainting with the treasured friendships she had established during our childhood. Mom’s infectious love of life, fun and independence made her a welcome presence in social circles through which she established many more dear friends at The Gainsborough, Seniors Drop-In at West London Alliance Church, and swimming at the Aquatic Centre. We are grateful for all of the support and friendship you have offered mom over the years and to us most recently. You have all been extremely generous with your kindness.
Mom was a devout member of Holy Family Parish and often expressed how being a parishioner in this community enriched her life. We are thankful for the numerous visits by members of the parish and prayers that have been said on her behalf.
Throughout her illness, mom received incredible medical expertise and outstanding care from the staff at the London Health Sciences Centre and at home through the South West LINH Team. The knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate staff at the Parkwood Palliative Care Unit made her last days comfortable. We will be forever grateful.
The interment of ashes will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 303 Riverside Drive, London, Ontario, at 10:00a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019. Immediately following will be a celebration of life at Civic Gardens, 625 Springbank Drive. It was mom’s wish that her celebration of life be a lighthearted, casual, social gathering. Due to allergies, these are fragrance-free events, please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, or scented lotion.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Pamela are asked to consider the Wheels of Hope Program (Canadian Cancer Society).
