Obituary of Patricia Gertrude Corcoran

CORCORAN, Patricia Gertrude (Sweet) On Mother's Day, Sunday, May 12, 2019. Loved mother of Ellen Quigg and Barbara & Michael Booth. Grandmother to Shawn (Amber), Carly (Fil), Parker (Sarah) and April. Predeceased by her husband John Anthony Corcoran (1998). Survived by Maureen Wright (late John), Teresa Sweet (late Don), Robert and Diane Sweet, Charles and Naomi Sweet, John and Patricia Sweet, Anna Mae and Jim Parker and Karen and Wayne Fraser and many nieces and nephews. Her younger brother Michael Sweet has been missed since 1980. There was nothing our parents loved more than spending time together, curling at Highland Golf and Country Club, dancing to the Big Band Sound at Wonderland Gardens, and large family gatherings. Their door was always open and the table leaf always handy. "Grand Wood Park Retirement Residence" was Mom's home, where she was an active participant in recreation programs and formed a dear friendship over regular card games and a glass of wine with Rosie Sesink. Mom has been compassionately cared for by Dr. Stacey Valiquet for many years. Her last days were made comfortable with outstanding care from Linda and Maria at Parkwood Hospital PCU. We will be forever grateful. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 511 Cheapside Street, London at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2019, followed by burial of ashes at St. Peter's Cemetery. A reception will be held at Highland Golf and Country Club, 1922 Highland Heights, London immediately following. To continue and enhance recreational programming for current and future residents of Grand Wood Park, donations may be made through Ellen or Barbara.
