Mrs. Wycks and Family,
Please accept my condolences on your loss of Patrick. I knew him during the time
Brendan and his siblings attended St. Johns School back in the 60s and 70s. He was a fine gentleman who always could be counted on to attend Parent-Teacher functions. He wore his pride in his Irish heritage on his sleeve and when he spoke there no doubt from whence he cometh. It was good to learn that he enjoyed many years of good health in retirement that allowed him to visit his homeland often. May he rest in peace.
As a teacher for almost 4 decades I met many, many fine families. The Wycks family was among them. I often wonder how each member of your family has fared in life. I assume, like most families, you have ventured away from London to raise families of your own. I trust you are all doing well. After 38 years as a teacher and principal I retired 20 years ago. I still live in London(Byron) and have maintained contact with several students that attended St. John s School as far back as 1960. If any of you have time I would love to have you drop me a line to tell me how you are doing.

We lived in the same apartment building as Mr. and Mrs. Wicks, and later my husband, (who also had Alzheimer’s) ended up at Marian Villa at the same time as Anne. Every day I witnessed how he trudged up to the hospital to visit and feed Anne, and the loving care he and his children displayed towards her. He was a wonderful man, and everyone was his friend. That he continued 3-1/2 years after my husband’s passing is incredible, and a testament to his love for his wife. That he passed in his sleep is a blessing. A life well lived. Rest in Peace Mr. Wicks. Margaret Karrer

Our condolences to Brendan, Valerie, Ryan and Kevin and the entire Wycks family on the passing of Paddy. We got to know him (and Anne) many years ago when Brendan and Valerie were first engaged, then married. We'll never forget his warm, fun spirit at the wedding. We are so sorry for your loss.
