Obituary of Renate Julie McKillop

It is with great sadness that the family of Renate (Renee) Julie McKillop nee Theubert announce her passing on November 19, 2018. Renee was born on August 14, 1950 in Bremen Germany. In 1952 her family immigrated to New York City where she spent her formative years. She met her husband William Brian McKillop in St. Lucia while working with the Rockefeller Foundation. They married in 1975 and moved to Newfoundland, Canada. In 1976 they moved to Winnipeg Manitoba where they had a son, William Montgomery McKillop in 1983. In 2001 the family moved to London, Ontario. Renee will be remembered as a loving, gentle person. She was an avid supporter of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and the Catholic Woman's League of Canada. She was preceded by her parents Ruth and Guenther Theubert, and survived by husband William Brian McKillop, son William Montgomery McKillop, daughter-in-law Susan McKillop nee Sheng, sister Roswitha Stegner, brothers-in-law Barry and Colin McKillop, as well as loving nieces and nephews, and many friends who meant the world to her. Visitors will be received at St. Michael's Church, 511 Cheapside Street, London on Saturday, November 24th from 10:15 am until the time of the Memorial Funeral Mass at 11 am. Interment in Port Elgin, Ontario at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Women's League of Canada. (John T. Donohue Funeral Home.)
