Obituary of Assunta Giacomina Soave

Soave, Assunta February 19, 1926 – October 22, 2018 Assunta Giacomina (Facione) Soave born in Valleluce, Italy on February 19th, 1926 died peacefully at Dearness Home at age 92 years, on Monday, October 22nd. Beloved wife of the late Domenico (2013), mother of late Philip (2003) and Nonna of Candice Lee Soave. Assunta will be dearly missed and remembered by her siblings Cosima Merucci, Carmella Vettraino, late Pasqualina Soave, Antonio Facione and Maria Rosa Soave and her many loved nieces and nephews. Assunta ‘Sue’ Soave loved life and everyone in it to the fullest. Her brave, beautiful, determined spirit was the wind in the sails of many family members and friends alike. She and her husband Domenico forged a path from Italy to Canada, working hard and selflessly to raise their only son and help their closest family members to make a better life in their new country. She is one in a billion, she will live on in all of our hearts and memories. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday, October 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 o’clock. Prayers will be held at 3 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Friday morning, October 26th at 11 o’clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
