Obituary of Michael John Rumas
Michael John Rumas, born June 27, 1959, died peacefully in his home in London, Ontario on March 31, 2018. He was the father of Brianne Rumas (Nadine) and Morgan Rumas; he loved them fiercely. Although his parents are predeceased, Matthew (2016) and Anne (2011), he is survived by his loving uncle John, his brother, Steve Rumas (Carolyn), and his sister, Carol Martin. He was the beloved uncle to Matthew (Tonya), Jeff (Alyssa), Paula (Leo), Chris (Erika), Ken, and Paul. He had numerous great nieces and nephews: Matthew, Caleb, Benjamin, Finnegan, Jacob, and Natalia. He will be greatly missed by the family, and his closest friend, Gary.
Mike spent the majority of his life living in London, Ontario, and he was an alumni of the University of Western Ontario. He briefly lived in Brampton, Ontario to pursue education at Humber College. He spent many years working in the restaurant business: including the Keg and Kelsey’s. He was a hard-working man for his entire life, and his daughters are his pride and joy. He enjoyed weight lifting, football (Baltimore Ravens), fine cuisine, art, concerts, and travelling. His best days were spent on the beach; be it in the Caribbean or, locally, at Port Stanley.
He regularly attended Holy Family Parish, and he was at peace with God. Visitation will be at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London on Friday, April 13, 2018 (from 2-4) and 7-9pm). Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish at 10am on Saturday, April 14, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the Middlesex-London EMS and Victim Services of Middlesex-London for their support.
