Obituary of Willem Marius Clement Roes

Roes, Willem M. Roes Peacefully, at University hospital, on February 1, 2018, with his family gathered by him in his last hours, Willem M. Roes, beloved husband of Gertrude Roes, dearly loved father of Robert Roes (Mary), Susan Offenbacher (David) and Caroline Cayuga (Darrin). Loving grandfather to Christopher, Matthew, Jacqueline, Danielle, Michael, Shaun and Aimee. Survived by his brother Steven Roes and sister Tonny Haffmans-Roes residing in the Netherlands. Predeceased by his parents Robert Roes and Wilhelmina Langlois-Van den Bergh, also of the Netherlands. Dear brother-in-law of Mary-Lou (deceased), Mark (deceased) and Anne, Joe and Diane, Rose and Piet, Alfons and Mebbie, Norbert and Suzanne (deceased), Hans and Margaret and many nieces and nephews both in the Netherlands and Canada. Willem worked over 50 years as a life insurance salesman. He will be fondly remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, his deep love for friends and family, and his enjoyment of swimming and playing bridge. Friends and family will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London Ontario, on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 o’clock. Prayers will be held at 4 o’clock. A Funeral Mass will be held at The Chapel at Windermere on the Mount, 1486 Richmond Street North, on Monday morning at 11 o’clock. Inurnment at St. Peter’s Cemetery Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer Society or Diabetes Canada.
