LAFRENIE, Cynthia … Cindy passed away peacefully after a long struggle with COPD at home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in London, Ontario. Born in Collingwood, Ontario on November 30, 1955, Cindy was 61 years old and proud of every year. Cindy lovingly raised her two children, daughter Kathleen and son Derek, on her own and ran her own cleaning business until 2006.
Cindy is survived by her mother Kathleen, her brothers Charles and Stephen, and her sister Tracy; by her children Kathleen, Valerie, Derek and Natalia, and grandchildren Salima, Krysztinna, Diana, Maria, and Godchild Katelynn Gates Schell; and by her nieces and nephews John, Inna, Michelle, Karl and Tracy.
Cindy will be dearly missed by us all. Her resilience and strength will never be forgotten. She truly showed us how to live fully and constantly reminded us of how full and complete life could be, even at 20% lung function. It was all about her mindset and Spirit. Cindy carried this throughout her life and lived by this simple saying: "If I wake up before my family I win and if I wake up before my Maker I still win."
Cindy will be laid to rest beside her sister Louise at a later time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Children's Charities (www.rmhccanada.ca?/).
Special thanks to Dr. Natalie Hertzman, VON, CCAC and ParaMed for their support, compassion, comfort and love. Cindy and our family could not have had better assistance.
