Dear McIntyre family:
My heartfelt condolences. Yvonne was gracious, gentle, thoughtful, wise and had a wonderful sense of humour. Yvonne and I worked together and developed a friendship that endured for over 40 years. She was proud of her girls: your successes, and how you overcame adversity; much the same as Yvonne did when facing the loss of her husbands, life threatening surgery 25 years ago and then in recent years her illnesses to which she finally succumbed. Her family was always her priority. I remember Yvonne being giddy with anticipation at the impending arrival of her 1st grandchild, delight in celebrating her special occasions with all her grandchildren. She sent me a photo on the celebration of her 75th birthday surrounded by all her grandchildren - names, ages and who their mothers were - with the notation "This is fun!" She was thrilled at the more recent arrival of her great granddaughter Aria, embracing the latest technology by using her cellphone to send me a picture of Aria at 8 months old. Yvonne lived a full, rich and rewarding life and leaves a wonderful legacy. I will miss her dearly. - Louisa Green (Ottawa)
