Obituary of Mary Frances McInnis

McInnis, Mary F. At Chelsey park on July 6, 2017 after 3 years of loving care and attention from her family and the wonderful supportive staff of Chelsey Park. Dearly beloved sister of Patricia McInnis, Margaret "Peggy" Bernardo, Robert McInnis and Wilfred Hirtle; much loved Aunt to her Bernardo and Hitle nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mary was known and loved by all who knew her for her warm smile, sweet personality and care for others. Mary was a graduate of Brescia College, UWO and Ames University, Iowa. She interned as a Dietitian at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto and later taught Nutrition and Dietetics to the medical staff. She held the same position at St. Mary's Hospital in Montreal and continued her teaching at Kent University and Brescia College. Practical field experience was gained as a Dietitian with the RCMP and as lecturer at the Department of Agriculture. This wealth of experience added to her value as a teacher and counsellor at Brescia in Nutrition, Dietetics and Institutional Management. Mary's position as Dietitian at London Life added to her list of friends with whom she kept in touch through their Retirees' Association and Maisonville Walkers Club. Mary is predeceased by sister Catherine Hirtle, brother in law Reginald Bernardo and parents Timothy J. and Frances K. McInnis. Visitors will be received at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, Saturday morning, July 22nd at 9 o'clock followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Save the Children or a children's charity of your choice would be appreciated.
