Obituary of Joseph Fergus Roach

Roach, Joseph Sadly, with his son John by his side Joseph peacefully passed away at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Joan (Upper) Roach (2003). He is survived by his son John, sisters Marion Feeney (Fergus), Loretta Lavigne (John), Mary Catherine Smith (Raymond), sisters in law Thelma King (Clare), Lorraine Rock (Lloyd) and many nieces and nephews, Rita Gunther. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Catherine (Murray) Roach, parents in law Andrew and Ann (Gowing) Upper, brothers Ed, Jack (Alice), James (Bernie), Charles (Violet), William (Dorothy), Louis (May), Leonard (Elma), sisters Isobel, Elizabeth Hart (Frank), Kathleen Fawcett (Don), Jean and sister in law Hazel Gooding (Norm), Joe married his wonderful wife Joan, August 30, 1952. He was a lifelong railroad man having worked at CNR-VIA for 41 years. Joe truly enjoyed having a good time with family and friends. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home , 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday evening, May 10th from 7-9 o'clock and on Thursday morning, May 11th from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 377 Oakland Avenue, on Thursday, May 11th at 11 o'clock. Interment will be held in St. Columban Cemetery, St. Columban on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Please consider donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association. A special thank you to the wonderful workers at CCTU Victoria Hospital and Meadow Park Nursing Home.
