Dear Uncle Satch: You will be greatly missed. I will always remember the times we had up at the cottage (the Father’s Day meal I tried to cook for you & burnt it to a crisp) and a lot of other fun times together. My deepest condolences to Dougie, Anne & Ian.
Love Karren

A great person was lost. I first met Brian in Shilo Manitoba in September 1959 and had many good times together although some are not for print. I had hoped to get together with him last fall when in Canada, when visiting with Tom Hunter, but Brian's condition had been failing at that time, so was unable to do so. One never knows another's pain, but for all family and friends, please try as I will, to remember the good times and for those that say you will get over it, don't even try, it just doesn't work when you lose someone you love. Bill.

Brians Family
I want to pass on our deepest sympathies to Brian's family. I was a young Gunner Apprentice when we first met at Camp Shilo in 1959 and became great friends. Our paths went different ways until 2011 when we reconnected. We loved to recall the "Good Ole Days" in the Apprentices and at 4th RCHA in Petawawa. I will truly miss my visits and telephone calls with "Satch" and have many warm memories of the times we spent together. God Bless you Satch.

Uncles Brian had a special role in my life. You were a friend, supporter and heck yeah sometimes a drinking buddy. You were both a relative and a companion; one of the few people able to be both. Whether I saw you at holidays with family or just one on one - I have so many special memories - some I can share and other I will keep to myself, however, all are filled with good times that we had, and that special connection that belongs only to you - Uncle Satch! Love your niece Kendra

I'll love you forever, Satch. Will remember all the good times we have had. Like the time when we were kids and some little beggars from Hopewell School were chasing you on their bikes and I took off after them running. They told you later they would never chase you again because your sister could outrun their bikes. Or the time up at our cottage and we went fishing at that stocked pond. Well, you and Karren did, I watched, until Karren's trout got off the hook while she was walking back, and it was the first and last fish I ever caught - especially with bare hands. I am so happy you made it down in September and stayed here a few days, and that you would phone me or I would phone you. Happy you got to wear that Legion vest I gave you that you were so proud of too.
Say 'hi' to Mom, Dad, Dan, Shirl, Marg, and Cliff, and tell them, and you too, to save room for me. It scares me to be the last one standing, but I have to keep a brave face and live up the the Dancey name.
You died the way you lived, Satch - a true soldier, brave and courageous. Love you forever.

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought every decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.
You were a great part of my childhood Brian. You and my Nan took great care of me, I will forever cherish many great memories. May you now be at ease and free from all the pain. Spread your wings soar across the sky.
Now he is in heaven taking care of us, let’s live happy and his soul will be happy too, may he rest in peace and his spirit live on.
There are no goodbyes. Where ever you and my Nan may be you'll both be in my heart. ❤
Love Tina, Chrissy O'Grady
