Obituary of Linda Anne Callaghan

CALLAGHAN, Linda Anne (Swift) Linda Anne (Swift) died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 6, in her 69th year at London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario. Linda was born in Ethel, Ontario on September 28, 1948, the daughter of the late Donald and Helen Swift. Beloved wife of John Callaghan. Dear mother of Patrick (Veronica) and Geoffrey (Andriana Barisic). Much loved grandmother of Christian, Sebastian and Nico. Sister of Janice Scott (Doug) and Douglas Swift (Beth). Sister-in-law of Brenda (Hans Beretta), Paul, Vincent (Susan), Angela DiMarco (Paul), Mary and Claire (James McDermott). Aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. Linda was generous with both her time and spirit, dedicating much of her life to philanthropic causes. She was administrator at the Walter J. Blackburn Foundation and The Plunkett Foundation, and served in a number of important volunteer roles, ranging from Board Member and Chair at the WCA and St. Michael's School Council, to Board Member at St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation, to active committee member at the Diocese of London and Brescia University College. She shared many close and enduring friendships, which was a testament to her kind and beautiful nature. She brought so much joy to so many people and will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London, Ontario, on Monday, January 9th from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, on Tuesday morning, January 10th at 10:00 o'clock. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
