Silva Velikonja (Crv), aged 89, died peacefully at her home on December

26th following a brief illness and a full, beautiful life. Left to

lovingly mourn her loss are her husband Ivan, her sons David (Andrea) and

Ted (Carolynn) and her grandchildren Madi, Connor, Evan, Kennedy and Leah,

her cherished friends and neighbours and her extended family in Slovenia.

Predeceased by her parents Jozafa and Ivan and her siblings Ivan, Neli,

Marica and Alojzija. Silva was born in Ciginj, Slovenia and emmigrated to

Canada in 1956, settling in London, Ontario, which was to become her

lifetime home. Silva was known for her strong faith and sense of humour.

What truly set her apart was her incredible compassion and generosity to

others and her deep love and devotion to her family. Visitors will be

received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King

Street, on Wednesday, December 28th from 2-4 and 6-8 o’clock.  Funeral

Mass will be held at St. Francis-St. Martin Catholic Church, 46 Cathcart

Street, on Thursday morning, December 29th at 10 o’clock.  Interment in

St. Peter’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her

memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
