Obituary of Giovanni Zangari

Zangari, Giovanni Surrounded by his loving family Giovanni Zangari passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the age of 67. Loving husband of Maria Zangari. Cherished son of Mariantonia and the late Giuseppe Zangari. Proud father of Giuseppi (Jennifer) Zangari, Mariantonia “Antonette” (Robert) Sayej and Vincenzo Zangari. Adoring Nonno of Maria, Giovanni, Anthony and Julia. Loved brother of Teresa (Antonio) Maisano, Elizabeth (Joseph) Franze, Frances (Fred) Fortese, Sam (Cathy) Zangari, late Cathy Palmieri (Tony), Frank (Martha) Zangari and Nick (Mriana) Zangari. Dear brother-in-law of Giuseppe (late Connie) Viglianti, Angela (Peter) Diaco, and Rocco (Maria) Viglianti. Predeceased by his nephew Louie Fortese. Giovanni will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada and Italy. Giovanni emigrated to London in 1967 with his father. With hard work, charisma, his ability to lend a helping hand, and his family oriented mind he slowly was able to bring his brothers and sisters to Canada where they have established family roots. Giovanni left an impression on everyone he met, was well versed and a true gentleman. He was the patriarch of the family. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday, September 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Friday morning, September 23rd at 11 o’clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
