Obituary of James Vella

Vella James, Peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 26th, 2016 at McGarrell Place Nursing Home, after a courageous journey and surrounded by his loving family, James (Jim) Vella in his 85th year was welcomed into the arms of Jesus. Beloved husband of Mary Vella for just shy of 64 years. Loving dad of Carmen Leitch, Margaret Logan (Douglas), Debbie Vella and Ann LaRocque (Jim Simpell). Proud grandfatherof James, Aaron, Matt, Dayna (Mike), Ben (Jenny), Jordan (Mackenzie), Jason (Theresa), Luke (Lauren), Neil (Lindsey) and Mariah. Loved great grandfather of 6. Dear brother of Martha Attard (Walter), Doris Salerno (Sam) and Eileen Gouder (the late Joe). Uncle Jim will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and extended family. Jim was one of the proud founders of the Maltese Canadian Club of London. Special thanks to Dr. Lo and the staff of McGarrell Place Nursing Home. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church, 377 Oakland Avenue on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Monday evening at 7 o'clock. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
