Obituary of Mary Catherine Loftus

Type Obit Here Loftus, Mary Catherine (Thomson) - Peacefully passed away at L.H.S.C. - Victoria Hospital surrounded by her loving children on August 19, 2016, Mary Catherine Loftus in her 79th year. Predeceased by her loving daughter Cathy (Eckel), her brother Bill and her parents Dr. Louis and Clara Loftus. Mary will be deeply missed by her children Darlene (Drew), son-in-law Phil (Ann), Scott (Roma), John (Nancy), David (Jacquline) and Lisa (Gavin). Mary was the proud grandmother of Danielle, Julia, Brad, Blake, Cameron, Connor, Emma, Spencer and Owen. She is survived by her loving brother Frank Loftus (Linn) and sister Carole Loft. Although Mary struggled with her health for the last 3 years she had a strong will to live. She was most happy when surrounded by her family. She will always be remembered as the proudest mother, grandmother and huge sports fan. She had a sparkle in her eyes that could light up the room. She loved to tell tales of growing up with her brothers and sister and telling numerous stories of raising her 6 children. Mary was a big animal lover and enjoyed her weekly football pools. Funeral Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Street, on Thursday, August 25 at 11 o’clock with visitation starting at 10 o’clock. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery. A celebration of Mary’s life will follow at Highland Country Club, 1922 Highland Heights, from 2-5 o’clock. If desired, donations made to the London Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
