Obituary of Sister Inez (Elizabeth) Whaling

Sister Inez Whaling (Elizabeth) The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada, London neighbourhood, announce the death of our dear Sister Inez (Elizabeth) Whaling at our Care Centre, June 30, 2016. Born in 1920 in Stratford, and received into our religious community in 1941, Sister is lovingly remembered by all her CSJ Sisters, her sisters Inez Haid, and Frances Leyser. Predeceased by her mother Anne Gale, father Joseph, sisters Mary, Sr. Marcella CSJ (Helen), Grace Laverty, and her brother Harry. From 1946 - 1969 Sister Inez taught both elementary and high school classes in Seaforth, Windsor, and London. She served as principal of St. Anne, St. Nicholas, and St. Mark schools in London. In 1969 she took a position as Counselor working for the London and Middlesex County Roman Catholic School Board, and finally in 1984 moved into Pastoral Care at Victoria Hospital, South Street, and Westminster Campuses. Retiring from these positions in 1998 Sr. Inez volunteered at Hospice. Always radiating a kind, gentle, caring presence, bringing hope and comfort to many, Sr. Inez's life and faith speak of a deep trust in our loving God.All services will be held at the Sisters' Residence, 485 Windermere Rd., London Visitation: Friday, July 1, 2:30-4:00pm with Prayers at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 2, 10:00 am, Rev. Francis O'Connor presiding. Burial at St. Peter's Cemetery,
