Ursula Percic

Obituary of Ursula Percic

It is with deep and heavy sorrow we announce that Ursula Percic peacefully passed away at LHSC - University Hospital on April 7, 2016 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Franjo (Frank) Percic (1982). Loving mother of Elizabeth (Janko) Skocir, Raymond, John (Diane Dalkin), and Bernard (Laura Ciccone). Cherished grandmother of Andre (Jennifer) Skocir and Tanya (Sjon) Hulst, and adored great grandmother to Maya, Jacob, Tristan and Shantel. She was a woman of unshakeable faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing. She was born on October 15, 1923 in Cestjanec, Croatia. As a young married couple, Ursula and Frank set out to Canada in 1957 where they hoped to provide opportunities for their expanding family. After initially settling in Saskatchewan, they moved to London, Ontario in 1959, where they both worked very hard for many years, holding multiple jobs to make sure they and their children could lead productive lives. As an immigrant, life for Ursula was filled with many challenges; learning a new language, raising four children, working simultaneously at a number of jobs to provide the necessities that would make life for her family as comfortable as possible. She was selfless, kind, generous, and never wavering from her deep commitment to her Catholic faith. In times of sorrow and unthinkable challenges that came her way, she lived her life with God by her side to provide her with the strength she needed. Ursula loved to bake and cook, and her gardening skills would be the envy of any horticulturalist. Everything she touched grew well and she made sure the house was filled with plants on the inside and beautiful flowers on the outside. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London on Monday, April 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Prayers Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church, 511 Cheapside Street on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
