Obituary of John Joseph Ryan

Ryan, John Joseph "Jack" Peacefully at LHSC - Victoria Hospital on January 29th, 2015 Jack Ryan passed away at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Joyce (nee Schenk) for 54 years. Loving father of Darleen (Ted) Yard, Paul (Monique) Ryan and Darrell (Nicky) Ryan. Proud grandfather of Jacob and Alexander Yard, Matthew, Danielle and Kevin Ryan, Ashley and Shannon Ryan. Survived by his brothers Jim Ryan and Frank (Marie) Ryan, and his sister-in-law Kae Schenk. Predeceased by Grace Fraser, Ed Ryan, Bill Ryan, Marg Ryan and Harold Schenk. Jack was a longstanding member of the Sheetmetal Union, Local 473. He enjoyed wood crafts and was an avid sportsfan which included watching his own children and grandchildren play. The family would like to thank the the Dearness Home, especially the 4th Floor East Nurses, where Jack spent his last year and a half joking with the staff. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday morning, February 5th, from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
