RICHEY, GEOFFREY COLIN
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, much loved Grampie and dear friend Geoffrey Colin Richey. Geoffrey passed away in his home, surrounded by the love of his family on November 19th, 2024, at the age of 78.
Geoffrey is predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years, Fiona Dorothy (2014) and loving daughter Samantha Uksik (2021), his parents, William Richey (1983) and Margaret Chamarette (2005) and his Brother William (Bill) Richey. Geoffrey is survived by his daughter Louise (Brian), son Charles (Laura), Son in Law Trevor (Samantha). He was the much loved and cherished Grampie to his granddaughter Sophie and his grandsons Julian, Maximilian, Erik, and Sebastian. Also remembered by his dear friend Dyanne. He will be missed by family and friends in Canada, England and around the world.
After a successful career in the British Army, he went on to be a successful businessman, known for his love of people, his kind and generous heart and his wonderful sense of humour. He always had a listening ear, some wisdom to share and he had a gift for making people feel understood and loved. Geoffrey was a gifted artist and an avid reader who often had a fascinating tidbit of trivia to share. He both volunteered at the SARI Therapeutic Riding School, London and was the past president of the SARI Golf tournament.
The family wishes to thank Dyanne Mogan for her friendship and the care she showed Geoffrey over the last few years. To Geoffrey's dear friends and family in Canada, England, and Australia, we extend our gratitude for your longstanding friendship.
