It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tanya Elizabeth Halfyard in London, Ontario, on November 4, 2024. Born on August 19, 1973, in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Tanya was a bright, loving soul who brought light and warmth to everyone who knew her. She was 51 years old.
Tanya is survived by her beloved son, Matthew Halfyard, and her devoted companion, David Fuentes. She also leaves behind cherished memories of her dogs, especially her basset hound, Lala, who brought her joy and companionship, and Enzo, who provided her comfort in her later years.
Tanya enjoyed a highly successful career at Xerox and Doering & Brown, where she excelled in selling commercial office equipment. Later, she founded her own business, Coral Media Group, where she specialized in innovative marketing strategies. Her entrepreneurial spirit and drive were evident in everything she accomplished. Despite her career success, Tanya faced significant challenges, including a series of car accidents that left her with injuries and chronic pain.
A proud alumna of Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, Tanya embodied perseverance and determination. She overcame significant struggles during her upbringing, yet she carved out a life filled with love, resilience, and accomplishments.
Tanya was deeply affected by the tragic passing of her mother, Carolyn Carter, on April 20, 2023. While their relationship was at times estranged, their love for one another remained steadfast, and Tanya carried her mother’s memory close to her heart in her final months.
Her Roman Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with peace and guidance. Baptized in the Roman Catholic Church, Tanya remained a firm believer in God throughout her life. She approached life’s challenges with grace and courage, becoming an extraordinary mother, a loyal friend, and a cherished family member to all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Thursday, December 12 from 9:00am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am. Inurnment in St. Peter’s Cemetery – Holy Family Mausoleum.
Tanya will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, strength, and the light she brought to the lives of those around her. May she rest in eternal peace.
