Obituary of Douglas James Brewster

Peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice on June 1, 2024, Douglas James Brewster in his 99th year. Beloved husband of Therese (Terry) for 70 years. Survived by his children Michael (Susan), Tim (Ray), David, Maureen (Dean), Chris (Elizabeth), his 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Paul (2019) and his brother David (2021). He was the son of the late Lucas and Lucy (née Smyth) Brewster.

Doug was a long time parishioner of St. Martin of Tours and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in WWII. He was a former employee of the CNR Carshops and retired in 1986 as a Captain of the London Fire Department.

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Tuesday, June 4 from 2-4 o'clock with prayers at 3 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours, 46 Cathcart Street, on Wednesday, June 5 at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Martin of Tours St. Vincent de Paul Society, St Joseph's Hospice, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
