Andy really enjoyed his backyard garden with the water gurgling in the little pond. (The racoons liked it too.) It was his peaceful place after a very turbulent early life enduring the war, then the Russians, then learning a new language in a new land. His parents knew well how to stretch a dollar, including keeping their pet canary alive for 15 years as it slowly turned bald - but kept chirping!
Music was one of his keys to life, and it showed in every note, every time he sat down at a piano or organ. Nobody could interpret Chopin the way he could, and his work in church music was superb. He continually gave us a fresh look on life by reminding us of God's creation and its wonders.
His family was his centre, and we see it in the joyful extended clan around him and NIkki today. Every new baby is a blessing from heaven in their eyes, and a chance for us to join in the happiness. Andy reminds us how wonderful and positive life can be when we live in the company of Jesus now and forever!
