Harmer, Mary “Marie”

In her 101st year, Marie Harmer passed away peacefully at the Dearness Home in London, Ontario, on Saturday, December 30, 2023.  She is predeceased by her husband William Gordon (1981), her daughter Donna Marie (1952), and her son John David (2019).  Loving mother of Daniel Gordon (Connie) Harmer and mother in law to Debra Harmer.  Proud grandmother of Sarah (Stuart) and John.  Predeceased by all of her 8 siblings, Marie was born and grew up in Norton, New Brunswick.  From the age of 17 to 89, Marie worked both inside and outside the home.  As a military wife, she lived in a variety of places in Canada and Europe.  Once settled in London, Marie worked at Eaton’s, the PUC and London Hydro, where she was affectionately known as “Mum”.  Marie will be greatly missed by her many friends and family in London, New Brunswick, British Columbia and the USA.

Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Saturday, January 6, from 1 o’clock followed by a service at 3:30.  Visitors are invited to a Reception following the service.

A Funeral Mass and interment for Marie are to follow in New Brunswick later in the Spring.
