Obituary of Mile Pocrnic
Mile (Mike) Pocrnic passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Loving husband to Manda, and devoted father to Nick (Marija) and Mary Pocrnic. Proud didi (grandpa) to Ilijana, Layla and Mile. Dear brother to Anka (Martin) Oreskovic and Katica Visnjovski. Brother-in-law to Ana (Nikola) Ruzich, Marija Oreski and Josip Hecimovic. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews and relatives and friends in Canada, Croatia and Australia.
He came to Canada in 1958, but it wasn't until 1967 that his life truly began when he married Manda in 1967. They made a happy life in Canada raising their two children. Mile worked at GM Diesel for 32 years. He was a proud member of the Croatian community and spent many Friday nights at the Zagreb club. He was an avid soccer fan and he spent many summers in his homeland of Croatia. In his later years, he enjoyed a game of cards, Connect 4 with his grandkids, and watching Westerns on TV.
Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home 362 Waterloo St. London, ON from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Sunday August 27th, prayers at 7PM. Funeral Mass at St. Leopold Mandic Church, 2889 Westminster Dr at 10AM Monday August 28th. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Croatian-Canadian National Sports Center Zagreb or sv. Leopold Mandic.
