Great grandma of Amanda Del Corso, Lívia Del Corso, Sabrina Unterkircher and Isadora Paolillo. Beloved Great-Great-grandma of Ravi Läuppi and Aymorê Brysson. It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Valentina Assis, who peacefully left this world, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 29th of 1922 in a small farm in Brazil, Valentina's life was a testament to her strength, resilience, and unwavering love. From humble beginnings in Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo, Valentina overcame the challenges of her childhood and embraced a new chapter when she married Jose de Paula Assis. Together, they raised a family and faced life's ups and downs as they relocated multiple times to support her husband's career. Following the loss of her beloved husband in 1971, Valentina displayed remarkable strength as she embarked on a new life in São Paulo and in Canada in 1993. There, she found solace, safety, and a vibrant community that welcomed her with open arms. Her golden years were filled with new friendships, an active senior lifestyle, and the joy of family.
Valentina's love extended beyond her immediate family. As a cherished grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she embraced her role as the family matriarch, providing guidance, support, and endless love. Her unconditional love, kindness, and selflessness left an indelible mark on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to our dear mother, we take solace in the memories we shared and the legacy she leaves behind. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us through life's challenges and reminding us of the power of love, compassion, and togetherness.
Valentina will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. In honour of her generosity and compassion, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Society, the one close to your heart. May her soul rest in eternal peace as she reunites with her beloved husband, watching over us from above.
