Michael Joseph Dias passed away at home on the afternoon of March 31st 2023.  He died surrounded by his family. He was born at Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert Saskatchewan to the late Francis (2021) and Wreda Dias. He is the younger brother to Bryan Francis Dias.He was baptized in the chapel of Holy Family Hospital where his father worked as a surgeon. His first Communion and Confirmation was also performed there. The family moved to Hamilton Ontario in 1993 and then onto London Ontario in 2017.

Michael graduated from St Thomas More High School in Hamilton and was a member of Community Living Hamilton where he participated in their workshops. He was legally blind and was a member of CNIB Hamilton. He had a love of music and played the piano until Alzheimer's dementia robbed him of this talent. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching all sports on TV, most notably hockey and football. He was a proud supporter of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Canadiens. A month after his beloved father passed away, Michael started to have seizures and a diagnosis of Alzheimer's was made.

The dementia was rapidly progressive, and Michael endured much suffering. The last 6 weeks of his life were particularly difficult due to many new medical issues. Through this all, Michael never once complained. His beautiful smile and loving disposition will be missed.  He is survived by his mother Wreda and his older brother Bryan. Michael was an angel, always happy and cheerful.  He had a great devotion to Jesus and Mary and attended Mass daily in Prince Albert with his Mom. The family wishes to thank the multitude of friends and family who prayed for Michael as well as those that actively participated in his care in the last month of his life.

Visitors will be welcomed at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta St, on Wednesday morning April 5, 2023, from 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London, Ontario.  A reception will be held following the interment in the church hall at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street.  In lieu of flowers donations to L'Arche London, 4448 Colonel Talbot Rd, London, ON N6P 1B6, would be appreciated.
