DAY (Loughlin), Mary Susan

Peacefully, surrounded with love and her family, in her 80^th year, on January 13^th, 2023. Loving mother to Brent (Paula), Kristen (Douglas Naudie), and predeceased by Colin and Duncan. Devoted partner and friend of Tom Walsh, with whom she shared companionship and laughter for over thirty years. Cherished and invested grandmother to Jack, Duncan, Madeline, Ryan, Kieran, and Iain. Sister to Charlotte (the late Bill) Dykes and Pamela (Gary) Beatty. Beloved aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Susan was a very proud graduate of the St. Joseph’s nursing class of 1964. She will be remembered for her years of dedicated and loving care to her patients and residents until her retirement in 2013. Susan found great joy watching her children’s and grandchildren’s many activities and cheering for her London Knights. She loved Elvis Presley, ice cream sundaes, cleanliness, and the colour orange. We will forever remember her beautiful smile and the unwavering kindness she demonstrated to others. Susan taught us all how to be courageous and resilient when confronted with life’s many challenges. Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the care she received at McGarrell Place under the direction of Dr. Karen Lo, and all the compassionate staff on Kingsmill Court. A Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 511 Cheapside Street, on Friday, January 20^th, 2023. Visitors are welcome at 9 am prior to a 10 am Mass. Interment will take place following Mass at St. Peter’s Cemetery. There will be a reception for family and friends following interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s memory man be made to the Family Council at McGarrell Place, the Bereaved Families of Ontario Southwest Region, or to the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners.
