Obituary of Marija Hecimovic

Marija Hecimovic (née Rukavina) in her 97th year, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family on April 25, 2022. Beloved wife of late Dane (1969). Loving mother to: Anna Ruzich (Nikola), Manda Pocrnic (Mile), Marija Oreski (Late Franjo), Josip Hecimovic. Proud Baka (Grandmother) to: Frank Ruzich (Phuong), Nick Ruzich (Jennifer), Nick Pocrnic (Marija), Mary Pocrnic, Silvio Oreski (Ksenija), Mario Oreski (Goga), Dan Hecimovic, Mike Hecimovic (Natasha) and Ashley Hecimovic. Beloved Baka-Baka (Great Grandmother) to: Breelin, Emelia, Ozthan, Kingzthan, and Lexingthan Ruzich; Ilijana, Layla, and Mile Pocrnic; Franjo (Gabrijela) and Ivan Oreski; Malia Hecimovic. Great, great Baka (Grandmother) to: Lucija Oreski. Loved Daughter to late Blaz and Ana Rukavina. Dear sister to: Kaja Hecimovic (Ivan) and family from Australia. Predeceased by her siblings in Croatia:  Brothers Jure, Mile and Ilija (1942), Sisters Ana Kardo (2014) (late Elemir 1994), Roza Pocrnic (2020) (late Grgo 2020), Loved Tetka and Ujna, will be remembered by nieces and nephews, will be missed by many relatives and friends in Lika, Croatia, Canada and Australia. She was born in Kosa Perusic Lika, Croatia. She loved her family, especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cared for her friends and loved to hear how everyone was doing. We would like to thank all the Doctors and PSWs, the staff at the Medicine Shoppe, and all the people who helped us during this difficult time. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London, on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Prayers at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, 2889 Westminster Drive, London on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 11:00 am. Family is requesting for all visitors paying their respects at the funeral home and Mass to please wear masks.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic Church in Perusic, Croatia, or to St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, London. Interment at Perusic Cemetery in Croatia.
