Black, Mary Theresa (nee Flynn)
Passed away peacefully at Marian Villa in London, ON, with family by her side on February 20th, 2022, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Black. Predeceased by her loving parents Joseph and Margery (Daly), dear sister Rosemarie and closest friends Catherine McAuley & Suzanne Clifford. Survived by her cousin Richard Dwyer and steadfast friends Beth Sciberras (Vince), Bill Clifford and Phil & Katherine Pye. Cherished “Aunt Mary” to Tom (deceased), Shawn (Anna), D’Arcy (Pamela), Lisa (Marc), Carol, Linda, Cathy, Julie Anne (Matthew) & Katie; and treasured “Mia” to Cassie (Shawn), Nicole, Samantha, Danielle, Maggie, Melissa, Amanda (Rami), Peter (Preanka), Robert (Rossalyn), Allison, Monica, Connor, Emma & Ben. Mary was born and raised in London, ON, and had a successful career working at the London Life Insurance Co. in London. Mary & Don loved to travel together and were devoted Parishioners at St. Peter’s Cathedral. As a devout Catholic, Mary supported many charities and was especially committed to Sisters of the Precious Blood, Society of the Little Flower and many children’s charities. Mary was a role model of generosity, compassion & forgiveness and she was an eternal optimist. No matter how severe an affliction old age threw at her, Mary would just take it in stride and focus on the positive aspects of her life. Thank you to the many nurses, PSW’s and other caretakers at Mount Hope for their constant care of Mary in this final stage of her life. Visitors are welcome to St Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, at 10 am, on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Funeral Mass to follow at 11 am. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to John T. Donohue Funeral Home.
