Obituary of Alexander Keith Murray

Alexander Keith Murray

February 3, 1965-February 11, 2022

Keith passed away on February 11, 2022 after a short illness.

Born in Montreal, at the age of four Keith moved to London, Ontario for a few years before the family located to a small farm near Lucan, Ontario.  The fourth of five children, Keith grew up in a farming environment which helped to develop and focus his keen work ethic.  It also introduced him to his future wife Carol at the age of fifteen, and they remained together until his passing.  After graduating from Medway High School, Keith started his working life by partnering with his older brother Doug in operating a farm market and produce business based on the family property.  During this period he developed an interest in bookkeeping and tax consulting, and after several associations with other companies he and Carol formed MJM consultants.  Along the way he became an owner/operator of a long-haul trucking business which he ran for many years with Carol in the tax business off-season.  The two endeavors, and their agricultural background, were complimentary, and many of Keith and Carol’s tax clients were farmers or owner/operators.  Building their home-based business together was not always easy, but they were always there for each other and approached everything as a team.

Keith loved to spend time at home working on a variety of home improvement projects, putting a “scald” on some chicken when friends or family came for dinner, enjoying a few fingers of Wisers rye, and relaxing at the family cottage near Tobermory, Ontario.

We will fondly remember his endearing qualities, including his easy going and welcoming nature, his generosity, his love of laughter and quirky humour, his devotion to his family, and of course, political discourse.

Keith is survived by his wife Carol, his two sons Matthew and Joel, his mother, Nola, his siblings Doug, Allan, Carol (Butler) and David, many nieces, nephews and his beloved chihuahua Molly.

Cremation has already taken place, and as per Keith’s wishes there will be no service.  In memory of Keith, donations to the London Humane Society would be appreciated.
