McFARLANE, PAULINE  (RAWLINGS)  (nee ARTYMOWICZ)

November 7, 1924  -  January 18, 2022

Peacefully, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Mt. Hope LTC (St. Mary’s 1), after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s, in her 98th year. Predeceased by her first husband, Henry (Hank) Rawlings, in 1977, and her second husband, Gord McFarlane, in 1993. Loving mother of Marlene Pierce (Tom) of Idyllwild, California; John Rawlings (Carole) of London, ON; and  William Rawlings (Mary-Jane) of Stratford, ON. Loving grandmother of Andrew Rawlings (and his partner, Sarah) of London ON; Janet Sullivan (Gary) of London, ON; Lindsey Bast (Michael) of Regina, SK; Scott Rawlings (Courtney) of Springwater, ON; and Jennifer Saxton (Joseph) of Cochrane, AB. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. Pauline was born in Poland and emigrated to Canada with her parents, John and Annie Artymowicz at the age of 8.  She enjoyed music, and in her younger years was an accomplished mandolin player. Pauline worked for Loblaws (at 3 stores in London) for many years.  She was a world traveler, enjoyed gardening, especially her herb garden.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing Polish delicacies for her family.  Pauline always spoke her mind and you knew where you stood with her. The family wishes to thank all of the staff of St. Mary’s 1, Mt. Hope LTC, especially Dr. G. Gillis, Leena, R.N., and Mindy, RPN, for their compassionate care of Mom over the past 8 years. Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no visitation or Funeral Mass.  Private family interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Fr. Murray Sample officiating.  Arrangements have been entrusted to John T.
