It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Anthony Littleton on January 10, 2022 in London. John is survived by Maureen, his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, daughters Lori Littleton (Kris Bremner) and Lynn Littleton (Carie Nelson) and grandchildren Chloe, Addison and Ashton Bremner. Beloved son of the late Arthur and Maretta Littleton and son-in-law to the late Andrew and Cathie Reilly. Predeceased by his sisters Margaret and Julia, he leaves sisters Rita Hudson and Ruth Murdock (Kevin Murphy), brothers George and David (Dianne), brother-in-law David Reilly (Sharon) and sister-in-law Anne Essert (Wally). John will also be greatly missed by Tyler, Korey and Shawn as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. John taught thousands of students during his career, first as an elementary school teacher at St. Anne’s, where he met Maureen, and then as a high school math teacher at John Paul II. After he retired in 2000, he and Maureen enjoyed travelling to Alaska, Europe and the Caribbean, and he reveled in his role as Boppa to Chloe, Addy and Ashton, whom he adored. With his strong faith, John was a very involved parishioner at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. As a member of the Knights of Columbus, John truly enjoyed fellowship with friends and various charitable initiatives. A lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers, Boston Bruins and Indianapolis Colts, John was a quiet man who enjoyed a good mystery novel, a glass of wine with dinner and playing cards with friends and Maureen. Intelligent, and with an arsenal of dad jokes that he accompanied with a full silent laugh, John treated everyone with kindness. He deeply loved his family and was always willing to help out family members, friends and fellow parishioners. John will be greatly missed, and we are grateful for the extraordinary care he received at London Health Sciences Centre, especially from his nurses Atlee and Samantha.
