Gibbons, Francis (Frank)

Peacefully surrounded by his family at University Hospital on September 4, 2021 Francis (Frank) Gibbons of London in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Gibbons (Vollmer) predeceased. Dear father of Vicky Gibbons, Francine Metcalf (Bruce), Patti Theissler (Martin), James Gibbons (Lesley) and John Gibbons. Loving son of James and Patricia Gibbons. Devoted brother of Mary Weber (Warren), Sheila Cuillerier (Robert), Ruth Bechberger (Paul) and the late Patricia Gibbons. Frank will be sadly and fondly missed by his 11 grandchildren: Jessica Lew (Lincoln), Ryan Metcalf, (Kelly), David Waite, Michael Waite, Rebecca Theissler, Colleen Metcalf, Justin Theissler, Joshua Gibbons, Isabell Gibbons, Evan Gibbons, Liam Gibbons. Frank will also be missed by his 4 Greatgrandchildren: Penelope Metcalf, Mia Waite, Nolan Metcalf, Bennett Lew, also friends and co-workers from UBC local 1946. The Family would like to thank the dedicated ICU Team at University Hospital for their care and compassion at this time. Special thanks to St. Elizabeth Health Care for their unwavering home support for Frank with special thank you to Louis, Jason, and Oshyanna for your 10-year dedication to Franks care and support, he thought the world of seeing you when you came.  Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home 362 Waterloo Street, on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will held at Mary Immaculate Church, 1980 Trafalgar Street on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10am. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, limited number of people are able to attend each visitation period and Funeral Mass. Inurnment at St Peters Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the London Regional Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
