After Randy’s brain injury September 1977 Nora was integral in the collaboration of a Board of Directors for the Dale Head Injury of London, now called the Dale Brain Injury with the help of Randy’s Neurosurgeon Dr. Emily Newell. She also started up a Support Group as there was nothing in place for Family’s to cope. Nora spearheaded the Bicycle helmet law which was passed October 1st, 1995. For these great contributions Nora was awarded The Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada in recognition of significant contribution to Compatriots, Community and to Canada. Nora was a Kinette for many years where she met and formed the D & T’s (Dinner & Theatre) group of approximately a dozen Kinette’s that she annually organized the list to keep them meeting monthly, along with fun weekend trips to Inn’s such as Brentwood and The Port Stanley Beach Hotel for the past 10 or 12 years, but best of all, the famous “Girls May 24th Weekend Away” in New York several times, gluing the group together for the past 37 years, the dearest group of Friends anyone could hope for. Nora will be most remembered by everyone that was fortunate enough to know her as the “classiest dresser”, with matching purses, shoes and jewelry also well known for her striking, bold manicures/pedicures. Nora and her Family would like to thank Dr Dalilah Fortin’s Thoracic Surgery Team for taking such great care of her since 2011.  Nora and her Family would also like to thank all the AMAZING NURSE STAFF at LHSC C5-300 Thoracic Unit where she was hospitalized on Mother’s Day May 9th, 2021.
