Brian, Jarrod, Quinn: I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Joanne. Joanne was such a kind and caring person. She had such a passion and dedication as a nurse to help others which I always admired about her. She has touched so many hearts with love including mine. Knowing Joanne she has probably already started working up in heaven as a guardian angel looking after the people she loves. I am thinking about you and sending lots of hugs your way. Tammy

Bryan, Jarrod, Quinn, Kelly and Nichols families, I was so deeply saddened to read of Joanne’s passing. Joanne was an amazing nurse who demonstrated compassion, caring and excellence to all her patients, colleagues and those fortunate to be her friends and family. I would see Joanne often in the halls of SJH, in the community at our children’s school outings and church where I would get an update on her family and the extended Kelly clan.. Her life although ended far too soon was a life that gave to and impacted so many.. We are thinking of you all, praying for you and hoping that the wonderful memories you hold close will help you in the days ahead.

My deepest sympathies to the Kelly and Nichols families. Joanne and I went to school with each other from kindergarten right through highschool. She was always a kind and amazing person. Pre-COVID, after 37 years apart, Joanne and I connected once again. I'm only sorry I didn't get to spend more time with her. Rest in peace Joanne. You will be missed. Katherine Hewitt (Kathy Taylor)

We are going to miss this girl. I was with Bryan when he met Joanne at an Octoberfest party in the late 1970's. We could have predicted that night, this was someone destined to be a part of Bryan's and our lives. Many travels and fun in her old haunts in Stratford, Los Angeles, skiing in Lake Tahoe and the group of six in Italy on the Carmen Brown tour. Joanne was our go to for anything medical be it personal or family issues, she was the one to make sense of the information we were receiving from the medical community. Never glossed over, always straight and you knew what was happening or what may be coming and could deal with it head on. When we were in London and had some significant things to deal with, Joanne would take the call, answer the questions and likely be at our door within the hour. Very tough when we found out she had tough problems of her own and we felt helpless, it was Joanne we called to deal with these things. Words really won't convey how we feel. Are heartfelt sorrows go out to Bryan, the kids and their families. Wish we could help more now, knowing Joanne would be doing whatever she could for us.

Bryan, Jarrod and Quinn, I hope you can find comfort knowing that Joanne made a positive impact on thousands of people's lives in her nursing career as well as with her friends and coworkers. I first worked with "JKN" at St. Joe's in ICU when Sister Mary Doyle was still in charge. I remember when Jarrod and Quinn were big belly bumps! We worked together again when we both were called out of retirement and were reunited at the Covid Assessment Centre. Joanne was one of the first to jump into action but I started back in April and it was comforting to see Joanne's masked, but likely smiling, face.
She loved the 3 men her life and spoke often about you. Almost as much as quilting, sewing machines and fabric sales! Her enthusiasm got me so excited that I almost purchased a very expensive machine until I realized that once lockdown was over and Joanne wasn't showing me her current project, the machine would sit unattended.
I learned a lot from your wife, Bryan and your mom, Jarrod and Quinn. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your immense loss.
