Obituary of Anna Maria Masciantonio

Masciantonio, Anna Maria (nee Gbyl)

March 7, 1963 – June 7, 2021

With sadness, we share the peaceful passing of our much-loved mother and wife who left this world quietly together with us on Monday, June 7. Caring and devoted wife and travel companion of nearly 29 years of Angelo. Loving and proud mother of their son Marcello (Aneta Surmanski), daughter Magdalena and her cats Fabio (2016), Viggo and Milos. Predeceased by her parents Bernard Gbyl (1993) and Danuta Gbyl (Kepinska) (2019) in Poland. Daughter-in-law of Erminio (2020) and Filomena (2010) Masciantonio of London. Niece of Tadeusz (2017) and Helen (2007) Kepinski of Thamesford. Sister-in law of Sergio and Lorella Masciantonio of London and Marilena and Giuseppe Moschetta of Oakville and aunt to Cristina, Evan, Giulia and Gabriele. Survived by her cousins Lynda, Debra, Eddie and Lisa Kepinski and their families of Thamesford and London. Also survived by Angelo’s uncles, aunts and cousins and their families in London, Oakville and Italy; her mother’s cousins and families in Poland and many of her close friends in London, Britain, Poland and Cuba.  Anna left Poland during the turmoil of the Solidarity Movement in the early 80’s and immigrated to Canada via Italy to live with her uncle and aunt to start a peaceful new life. She furthered her education at Fanshawe and Westervelt Colleges and began a career in accounting at Charterways School Transportation. After the birth of her second child, she decided to become a full-time stay at home mom and thoroughly enjoyed gardening and later, taking care of her fur babies. Anna loved to travel with her young family to Central and Southern US states and later to the sunny beaches of Cuba and Central America as well as many local trips through Ontario and Quebec.
